A quick reminder of a revised rule that came in to force at the end of 2024.
9.2 Exposing Cards and Proper Folding
Original Rule
A player who exposes his cards (verbally or physically) with action pending may incur a formal warning or penalty but will not have a dead hand. The penalty will begin at the end of the hand.
When folding, cards should be pushed forward low to the table, not deliberately exposed or tossed high.
Intentionally exposing a card to induce or inhibit action is a serious breach of poker ethics and in certain instances can be considered a form of collusion. It is never permitted.
In such cases the TD should be called and decide on what action should be taken.
Revised Rule
Any player who intentionally physically exposes their cards who are facing action will have their hand killed immediately.
Intentionally physically exposing their cards after making their action will incur a formal warning or penalty (See 9.5). The penalty will begin at the end of the hand.
Intentionally exposing a card to induce or inhibit action is a serious breach of poker ethics and in certain instances can be considered a form of collusion. It is never permitted.
In such cases where a players cards have been accidently exposed the TD should be called and decide on what action should be taken but will not automatically have a dead hand.
When folding, cards should be pushed forward low to the table, not deliberately exposed or tossed high.
